Illegal hits, namely head shots and boarding, have been a hot button topic around the NHL for the past few seasons.  Only three weeks removed from the Olympic break (where a zero tolerance policy was enforced to any blow above the shoulders) and the topic is raging once again.  In fact, there have three high profile instances over only the past ten days that needed to be reviewed by the league office.  The problem, though, seems to be that the league cannot remain consistent in regards to its rulings on such hits.
